While I was born and raised in beautiful Southern California, a place I'll always love and call home, Spain has held a special place in my heart since I was a young boy. My mother is Spanish, and I've had a lifelong connection to the country. I hold Spanish citizenship, and some of my earliest childhood photos show me wearing the Spain national soccer jersey—long before I imagined I would one day call Spain home.

After a radical encounter with Christ in high school, my heart and desires were turned upside down in the best possible way. I then found myself wanting to so deeply know God more and serve the local church and would have the honor of co-leading a middle school small group for years with one of my best friends, as well as do evangelism outreach. As my love for God's Word grew, I was counseled toward pursuing my passions for languages and teaching, and studied Spanish while minoring in Biblical & Theological Studies at Biola University, equipping me to better serve the Church and communicate the gospel across various cultures. During my time there, I also spent a semester studying abroad in Madrid, an experience that deepened both my love for Spain and my desire to see the gospel flourish there. Looking back, I can clearly see how God was preparing me for the ministry He would later call me to.

I would later move to Madrid indefinitely to teach English, where I lived for more than three years and grew even deeper in my love for the Spanish people, language, and culture. During my final year there, I felt deeply led to move to Barcelona. As an act of faith, I began studying Catalan intensively, a language spoken alongside Spanish throughout Catalonia and Barcelona, trusting God to open the right doors. After confirmation after confirmation, the Lord provided an English and Social Studies teaching position at a local private school in Barcelona, as well as 121 Church, a bilingual Church plant started in the summer of 2024 by Pastor Ryan Brown and his wife, Carmen.

There I would meet my wife, Kate. In a beautiful picture of God's providence, Kate is from Chile, just as Pastor Ryan's wife, Carmen, is—and Kate and Carmen met on a plane traveling from Chile to Barcelona the very day Kate was called to move here. Together, Kate and I have had the joy of being in charge of the Church's 30s+ Community Group, investing in Bible study, discipleship, and putting on events for authentic Christian community. We also lead the Church's prayer ministry and have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the remarkable ways God is growing and working through 121.

‍ ‍ As I continued serving, Pastor Ryan recognized a growing calling and gifting in me toward teaching and pastoral ministry—something God had already been stirring in my own heart. My experience as a high school and elementary school teacher—shepherding my students and learning how to mentor and guide them well—also became a training ground that God used to shape and confirm this calling. Pastor Ryan began entrusting me with opportunities to preach and speak, giving me real space to grow in teaching God's Word and step into leadership. Through prayer and conversation, we identified an opportunity for me to serve 121 Church full-time as Discipleship Pastor, made possible through serving as a support-raised missionary. Because 121 is a growing church plant, I am trusting God to provide through financial partners so that, if He wills, I can step into this full-time role in early 2027.

‍ This support would enable me to devote myself fully to investing in people through one-to-one discipleship, developing small-group curriculum and training leaders, organizing and leading ministry events and apologetics workshops, teaching and preaching God's Word, and serving the local community. These gifts directly support my ministry and are not contributions to the general budget of 121 Church. ‍
